You know, lately I have been thinking about all the things I’ve achieved and where I want to go next.  NEW YEARS is coming around and it is a perfect time to REFLECT.

Many people feel like making a New Year’s resolution, such as never to eat too much again, or to exercise more etc.
Most of these resolutions last a couple of weeks, just to be met with the best of intentions, but the inability to follow through.

Do you have a New Year’s resolution? Let me give you a TIP:
Don’t make any resolutions! Yes you heard me right!

Resolving NOT to do something will usually be met with resistance of our, often unconscious, desires. And to boot our best intentions not to do something usually bring about the opposite.

You see, most people think that making up your mind, and having willpower will overcome most obstacles.

Instead set goals, and then GO ABOUT IT in a SMART and WHOLE BRAIN way that pulls in the cooperation of your SUBCONSCIOUS MIND and your HYPER-DIMENSIONAL MIND.


According to an article written by Ashley Feinstein on Forbes, “Why you should by writing down your goals,” in 1979, the Harvard MBA program conducted a study where graduate students were asked about their goals. Specifically, they were asked, “Have you set clear, written goals for your future and made plans to accomplish them?”

The results of the study were as follows:  only 3% had written goals and plans; 13% had goals but they weren’t in writing and 84% had no goals at all.

Ten years later, the same group was interviewed again and the result was absolutely mind-blowing. The 13% of the class who had goals, but did not write them down, was earning twice the amount of the 84% who had no goals. The 3% who had written goals were earning, on average, ten times as much as the other 97% of the class combined!

5 Basic Goal Setting Principles:

Principle #1: Dream Big Dreams

Only big dreams have the power to motivate and inspire you to get you to your full potential.

Principle #2:  Put Your Goals In Writing

Having positive present tense goals, programs the subconscious mind and builds faith and conviction inside you, that the goal is realizable. The way you accomplish this is by writing and re-writing your goals, having the ability to carry them with you and reviewing them on a daily basis. The more often you envision and reaffirm your goals, the more deeply they’ll sink into your subconscious mind and the more power they’ll take on to help you achieve them.

Principle #3: Your Goals Must Be Balanced

Imagine a star, it’s made out of multiple rays! And so is our life. We need love, we need nurturance, we need freedom and/or security (each of us to different degrees), we need achievements, (also to different degrees), we need leisure time, and we need a sense of purpose.

Think of the areas of your life like this:
Health,  finances, home, personal development, achievements or self-actualization, relationships and love, family, or friends or teams, spiritual development and special contributions.

Principle #4: Your Goals Must Be FELT as SUCCESSES in ADVANCE

If you want to achieve a goal you must be able to imagine already having arrived in your fulfilled future. This is probably the most effective tool of creating a hyper-jump, a quantum jump to reaching your goals.

Principle #5: Your Goals Must Be tied to a Deeper Sense of Purpose!

To be deeply fulfilling you need to feel connected to a larger, greater energy source within yourself and beyond yourself.

Goals in and of themselves, even when we achieve them, don’t make us happy. What makes us happy is the process of expanding, the connecting to the higher source within ourselves and the universe.

In the end we need to make sure  as well that the ladder of our success is leaning against the correct building.
